Looking at the glass half full or half empty? With wine and pregnancy it can be looked at both ways. Most times people usually only talk about the happy go lucky parts of these big times in our lives, and most the time it's the fairy tale version. I love those thoughts but I am also very much a realist. I have a sarcastic side to me that is often blunt and to the point. For me, I like to find humor in the big moments and talk on some of the real issues rather than sugar coat all the events in our lives. It's real that way and also fun. I love the not so perfect, crazy beautiful life we've been given. So pregnancy, like the glass of wine, can be looked at half full: the excitement, our first sonogram, decorating the nursery, dreaming of the sweetness! But lets face it, pregnancy is also half empty: all the stinkin' changes in your body and not to mention the fact that you can neither have a glass of half full nor half empty of wine ;)...leaving you with little to aide in the headaches.  Mama said there'd be days like this....

....so perhaps it's neither half full, nor half empty but JUST RIGHT!

We are very similar in the "keeping it real" category. I think you hit the nail on the head that some of the moments are half full and other half empty and finding peace in the in between is real. No need to sugar coat life. With both my pregnancies I had a hard time giving up some of the things I enjoy like wine, skiing, and sushi. Its normal and its real. As you know, making a human is no small feat and raising them is an even bigger one. You need a glass of wine for these things:-) and thank goodness after they are cooked and on the outside you can. Glad babies first picture debut went well and you are marching to the beat of the second trimester. Sure can't wait to meet that little Hollingworth. Love you!
