David said that he wanted to take me to
Monterey for a weekend for my 24
th Birthday!?! So this past weekend we did just that....on Friday we drove up Pacific Coast Highway to
Monterey and had the best time ever. On the way up we stopped by Hearst Castle and made many stops for the beautiful landscape.
Here is my Beautiful Ring! I love, love, love it....David had it made for me and proposed on the beach at midnight on 3/7/09... it was simple and just us, the waves and the moon. Just right in my books....he knows me well!
David caught me doing this a lot over the weekend!
Here is our hotel on Cannery Row!The hotel was a spa-like dream. Huge white comfy bed with fresh flowers.
The weekend was gorgeous! This is a view from the
Monterey Bay Aquarium.
On the night David proposed we went to dinner at The Chart House where our table overlooked the ocean. I had Alaskan King Crab and David had Steak and Lobster. Our dinner was so wonderful!
The following day we went whale watching, where we saw about 150 dolphins, a grey whale, an
albatross, sea otter and sea lions. It was fun but I did find out that I am much better on the beach than on the ocean. Being sea sick wasn't so great....but we made the best of it :)

This is the spot were David proposed to me! We went back the next day to get a shot of the beach in the day time.
On the way home we made stops on 17 Mile Drive and hiked along the beach for a bit.
David gave me the best weekend and the best past 7 years...I love him so much! We are so excited to start this new chapter in our lives together.

Yay!!!! I am so happy for you! The ring is so gorgeous, and unique. Just like you Katie. David, you have been a member of our family for a long time now, I am so excited it is going to be official now. (At least now you won't be asked every second "so when r u gonna propose?" now it will be "when r u gonna have babies?" :/)
I honestly can not imagine anyone better for Katie. Thank you for ALWAYS being so good to her. And it is so good to know that you always will. You are everything we all wished for her and WE LOVE YOU BOTH!!!!

Yeah!Couldn't be more excited for you guys. CONGRATULATIONS! and the ring is so unique and gorgeous. Cade and Emily were raving about it.
That is funny that you keep looking at it. I did that for months after Matt gave me mine, I had never worn a diamond and it kept catching my eye.
This is another great reason to get to see family.
